Thalassemia Symptoms and Treatment
A genetic disorder, thalassemia refers to the inability of the body to produce enough red blood cells, or haemoglobin. While mild cases of thalassemia do not warrant medical attention, more severe cases can directly lead to anaemic tendencies. Generally caused by cell DNA mutations, thalassemia ‘traits’ are borne by parents and passed on to their children. The ‘alpha chain’ and ‘beta chain’ of haemoglobin molecules are impacted due to the onset of thalassemia, in which the gene mutation count also plays an important role. If left untreated for long, thalassemia can easily lead to infections, spleen problems and/or an iron overload in the body.
At PBHRC, cases of acute and chronic thalassemia are treated on a regular basis. Through research-backed and proven homeopathic methods, the symptoms of this haematology disorder are managed systematically. Clinical advice is also provided, to treat related lifestyle disorders.
